Basics

The map-first loop in plain language: fleet, routes, claims, hub upgrades, and what never gates your solo career.

Flyorian is a free browser airline management game built around a live world map. You found a carrier, put aircraft in the air, claim revenue when they land, then spend cash and materials to grow the hub and unlock better airframes. Planes keep flying on the server while you are away — there is no energy meter and no download.

This page is the systems overview. For a click-by-click first session, use how to play. For strategy essays (fleet financing, short-haul vs long-haul), use the blog. Social systems live in the alliances and friends docs.

The core loop

Every session repeats the same rhythm: buy or lease an aircraft, dispatch it to an airport within range, wait for the flight to complete (including offline), claim cash / materials / XP, then reinvest. Cabins are always full — revenue is seats × distance, not a fare spreadsheet.

Progression never depends on friends or alliances. Social features are optional spice once the economic loop feels comfortable.

Currencies you will see

Cash pays for aircraft, fuel, hub facilities, and most shop items. Materials come from claims and feed construction and upgrades. XP levels your airline and unlocks fleet tiers. Friendship points and alliance points are separate social currencies — they never gate solo unlocks.

Map, hub, and fleet

Your hub is the home base on the world map. Facilities and missions expand what you can do there; longer aircraft unlock farther airports. Leasing is often safer early — ownership costs more upfront but compounds once routes stay busy.

Maintenance, fuel, and range matter more than raw seat count. An idle jet burns runway time; a short profitable hop on the right airframe compounds faster than a glamorous long-haul you cannot fill with utilisation.

What docs cover vs blog vs how-to-play

How to play is the first-hour path. The blog owns strategy and comparisons. These docs own reference: what alliances do, how friend visits pay, and how the loop pieces fit together — so product pages do not all repeat the same tutorial.

Offline-safe flights

Departures keep running on the server. Come back to claim — you do not need to stay online.

Solo first

Friends and alliances never lock aircraft tiers or hub buildings. Learn the loop alone, then opt in.

Readable economy

Seats × distance, not fares. Watch fuel and utilisation before chasing range.
